2026 Hereford Hall of Fame | Phillip Burns

From purchasing his first two Hereford heifers in 1952 to building Burns Farms into one of the largest registered Hereford operations east of the Mississippi River, Dr. Phillip Burns has devoted more than seven decades to advancing the breed.

His leadership was instrumental in unifying the horned and polled associations, serving as chairman of the Merger Committee before becoming the first president of the newly unified American Hereford Association in 1998.

Beyond his leadership, Phillip's commitment to youth development, breed improvement and the next generation of cattlemen has left a lasting impact on the Hereford industry.

Gary and Kathy Buchholz have dedicated their lives to advancing the Hereford breed through GKB Cattle, producing quality genetics while investing in the next generation.

Since establishing GKB Cattle in 1998, the couple has built a nationally recognized program rooted in performance, stewardship and a shared passion for the industry.

Beyond their accomplishments as breeders, Gary and Kathy have made a lasting impact through their commitment to youth development, serving as junior advisors, supporting the Hereford Youth Foundation of America and creating opportunities for young breeders to learn, lead and achieve.

2026 Hereford Hall of Merit Inductee | Craig Huffhines

From helping establish Certified Hereford Beef® to serving 18 years at the helm of the American Hereford Association, Craig Huffhines played a pivotal role in shaping the modern Hereford breed.

His leadership guided the Association through the historic merger of the horned and polled associations while advancing breed improvement, performance data collection, technology and commercial marketing. His vision helped lay the foundation for the Hereford breed's continued growth.

Beyond his tenure at AHA, Craig has continued to serve the livestock industry through leadership, education and mentorship.

From managing Four L Herefords to establishing Singleton Marketing, Bobby Singleton has dedicated nearly five decades to advancing Hereford genetics, marketing cattle and mentoring fellow breeders.

Named Hereford Herdsman of the Year in 1999, Bobby has worked with more than 100 ranches and individuals throughout his career. His commitment to recognizing others continues through his leadership of the Hereford Herdsman of the Year award and its scholarship fund.

Bobby’s straightforward approach, industry knowledge and dedication to the people behind the breed have made him a respected leader in the Hereford industry. Congratulations, Bobby, on a remarkable career and a lasting legacy within the Hereford breed!
