Myth vs. Fact: Trichology Edition 🧠✨
Let’s clear up the biggest hair + scalp misconceptions once and for all.

MYTH 1: “If my scalp is dry, I should wash my hair less.”
FACT: Washing less can actually make dryness worse. The real issue is often product buildup, pH imbalance, or lack of proper hydration—not frequency. A healthy scalp LOVES routine cleansing.

MYTH 2: “Oily hair means a dirty scalp.”
FACT: Excess oil is usually your scalp overcompensating for dehydration or irritation. It’s a sign your scalp microbiome needs support… not shame.

MYTH 3: “Hair loss always means something is wrong internally.”
FACT: While internal factors matter, external stressors like tight styles, extensions, improper products, inflammation, or scalp conditions can trigger shedding too. This is why scalp evaluations are key.

MYTH 4: “Dandruff and dry scalp are the same thing.”
FACT: They are completely different. Dandruff is fungal-related and needs specific treatment. Dry scalp is a moisture issue. Treating one like the other can actually make symptoms worse.

MYTH 5: “Hair growth products alone will fix my shedding.”
FACT: Growth serums help, but without addressing scalp health, inflammation, and proper routine, results will be minimal. Growth happens when the foundation is healthy.

MYTH 6: “If it tingles, it must be working.”
FACT: Tingles can mean irritation, not effectiveness. A healthy scalp shouldn’t burn, itch, or sting with products.

MYTH 7: “Extensions ruin your hair.”
FACT: Poor installation or improper home care do. With the right method, maintenance, and scalp health plan, extensions can actually protect your natural hair.

Trichology is all about the science behind your scalp + strands.
When you understand the truth, you can finally care for your hair the right way.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Hair grows about ½ inch a month — and that's for healthy hair and a healthy body, no issues involved. It cannot double in volume overnight, no matter what the ad promises.

Don't fall for the hype. This is exactly why I'm selective about the brands I carry — I only stand behind what actually works.

Real hair growth takes time — but it's absolutely possible with the right approach.

Healthy hair doesn’t start at the ends — it starts right here on your scalp. 💆‍♀️✨

Your scalp is the foundation of every strand, and just like healthy soil grows strong plants, a healthy scalp grows beautiful hair. When your scalp is balanced, hydrated, and free of buildup, your follicles can thrive—leading to stronger, shinier, and fuller hair over time.

That’s why scalp care is just as important as the products you put on your ends. Regular exfoliation, gentle cleansing, and targeted scalp treatments help remove buildup, balance oils, and improve circulation—giving your hair the environment it needs to grow and flourish.

If you’ve been struggling with dryness, flaking, or thinning, it might be time to focus on what’s happening beneath the surface. Healthy hair truly starts at the root. 🌿

FAQ Guide: The 3 Questions I Get Asked Most as a Trichologist 🌿✨

If you’ve been thinking about booking a trichology consultation, you’re probably wondering the same things many of my clients ask. Here are the top three questions I hear most often:

1. Can a trichologist help with hair loss?
Yes! Hair loss can happen for many reasons, including hormones, stress, nutrition, medications, genetics, and scalp conditions. My job is to help identify the root cause and create a personalized treatment plan to support healthier hair growth.

2. How long does it take to see results?
Hair growth takes time, so patience and consistency are key. While everyone’s journey is different, many clients notice improvements in their scalp health first, followed by reduced shedding and healthier hair growth over the next several months.

3. What happens during my first appointment?
Your first visit includes an in-depth consultation, scalp analysis using specialized imaging, a discussion about your health and lifestyle, and personalized recommendations tailored specifically to your hair and scalp concerns.

Healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp. If you’ve been searching for answers instead of temporary fixes, I’d love to help you start your hair restoration journey. 🌱
