✨Base breaking up close and personal!
I’m often told by stylists that they’re afraid to base break. They worry about exposing too much underlying warmth or creating a hard line grow out.
Yes, it’s true. The more we change the natural base the more line of demarcation you will get.
There’s always that rare case where somebody wants more shift than what will naturally grow out soft and seamless. But more often I basebreak on a level seven or lighter and just get 1/2 to one level of lift.
A cooler basebreak generally creates a softer grow out. I like to use a base break color by Goldwell US call Brightener in Natural. It lifts and deposits at the same time. So when that underlying pigment is exposed, it’s actually depositing a cooler tone on top of it.
When I want a warmer or stronger shift at the base, I’ll often use a high lift tint for my base break. Yes this will create a stronger line of demarcation and a less natural grow out. You can always go back and root tap if needed for a softer grow out.

I’m reaching for Magic Oil by Besque
There was a time I wouldn’t show my arms without self tanner. Now I won’t show them without Magic Oil.
My skin looks smooth, hydrated and healthy. Magic Oil is all Natural and gets an ‘EXCELLENT’ score on Yuka.
If you haven’t tried this for your skin you will love it!

Turning Summer Blonde into Fall Dimension!🍂
I kept the halo section blonder to maintain the brightness in the Faceframe. Using Goldwell US Light Dimensions Silk Lift Strong 20 vol.
I added dimension through the body of the hair by alternating in a lowlight. My lowlight was Topchic 6n/7n with 10 vol.
She likes to be warmer so I finished with a basebreak using Goldwell Topchic 10n 20 vol. it processed for 5 minutes. The basebreak doesn’t only add warmth but eliminates the hard line of demarcation and softens the growout.
✨Save this for your next client ready to add a little fall dimension and share it with a stylist who will love this formula.

Your root tap shouldn’t look like a month of grow out!
After my highlighting service, I did an all over gloss. Using Goldwell US 10BS/Clear
Instead of applying the root tap first, I tap it over my gloss. I used Goldwell Colorance Gloss Tones 8N/6N/7PN this creates a soft, diffused blend without any line of demarcation.
For the application I used my favorite Fromm Pro - Professional Styling Tools tools.
✨Save this technique and try it for your next root tap or share it with a stylist who needs a softer blend.
