If you’ve been a client of mine for a while, you know I try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible. I’ve rearranged my schedule, come in on days off, stayed late, and worked around personal commitments to make appointments happen.

And honestly, I think sometimes I’ve been a little too flexible.

When someone doesn’t show up or cancels at the last minute, it’s not just an empty spot on my calendar. It’s lost income, time I could have made my own personal care appointments, and an appointment I could have offered to someone else who was hoping to get in.

This little business of mine is my livelihood. It’s how I pay my bills and help support my family.

I send appointment reminders through both text and email, and sometimes even a personal text, but ultimately, remembering your appointment is your responsibility.

I completely understand that life happens, and I’ll always have compassion for genuine emergencies. But I’ve realized that being understanding shouldn’t mean my time and income are any less valuable.

I love my clients, I love what I do, and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received over the years.

But moving forward, I need to be better about setting boundaries and protecting my time, just as I respect yours.
